We rang in the New Year in Mexico with D’s parents, who introduced us to Zihuatanejo. It’s on the Pacific coast (part of the Costa Grande), originally a fishing town and now a popular holiday spot.
Zihuatanejo is built on hills around a bay – the steep inclines remind me a bit of San Francisco – and the water is busy with fishing boats, oyster divers, and seabirds.

Ooh, that looks lovely. I once read a trip report on Fodor's many, many years ago that described a fishing village very much like this, and while I've forgotten the name of the place, it's hilly seclusion stayed with me as place that looks deeply appealing.
I look forward to hearing more about your travels. Great photos!

Thank you! It was an interesting change from Anguilla – different landscape for sure, and such a different "scene". The food was just as good!
